Hear, hear! I have found the enemy, and he is me! Most people forget that we are no more than intelligent savages, with a veneer of civility. Our inner desires, hopes and fears roil just below the surface. Reason and language are tools we use to keep that veneer intact. If we peel back someone else's veneer to reveal the inner turmoil, we risk having our own stripped away. Hence, we find security and comfort in the anonymity of the flock and fear the sociopath most of all.

Your analytical skills set you apart from most and they are not a sin. Quite the opposite. Reason and language are tools that are both shellac and plane. These tools can either free one from the opiate of religion and clear magical thinking's haze or they can enshroud an intelligent mind in a stupor.

With an unfettered mind you see the world and yourself for what they are: not inherently good or evil but a consequence of a chain of causation. Change beliefs, change behaviors, change consequences, change results. So simple and so elegant, much like the universe.

These people are nuts. they've gone to far off the deep end. the word of God says we are to PROTECT ourselves and our people & property....... NOT to go out to burn down to the ground everybody and everything that does not agree with YOU'RE beliefs.

There is a ton of evil out there that we are to be on high alert to mark and protect ourselves from - coming from every angle. These freaks are among those. don't fall for it. it is not what the word of God has taught us!!!

      Romans 16:17
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them who cause divisions and offences contrary to the bible teachings which ye have learned; and avoid them.

I am praying that as a country, we do not completely loose our ability to think, to resolve, before we implode

As Trump backs down from his “Stop the Steal” hoax, the supporters he radicalized are vowing to carry on the fight without him.

The word of God? - No offense, old friend - But they are the words of men - many times translated and manipulated by more men. Most of whom were less interested in truth than in power. I do NOT ridicule faith (though I will occasionally question its foundation) - but I have massive issues with religion and doctrine. Faith brings comfort to those who need it - this I believe.

The word of God as found in the English Bible taught me VERY early on that I had little to learn from it except manipulation. I argued this with my "divinities" teacher at the age of 13 and was subsequently excused further attendance of class. Had I wished I could have attended Jesuit adult schooling (with a promise of personal gain) - but that would have taken hypocrisy on my part. Had I so done - I'd probably be a Politician. Many from the said school are.

For my Sins - yes, an inappropriate turn of phrase Mr Speedy . Sin implies religion. We have William Tyndale to thank. A great man - a very christian man, who understood the POWER of language, sentenced and murdered as a heretic for translating the Bible into English directly from Hebrew and Ancient Greek, bypassing the "authorised" Latin version. It diminished the power of the established papal church and effectively allowed Henry VIII, despite his persecution of Tyndale, to establish the "Church of England".

Chris, I get myself into plenty of back n forth. On the subject of religion (bad) or Christianity (good) I will say what I say. You take it how you want, but I no longer will allow myself to argue it with others.

        Love ya man 😊

You're always wrong if you disagree with me - coz I am always right.
It's why I'd make such an excellent autocratic ruler.
        Off with their heads!.

I will confess that I tend into Barba's camp. I was raised in the Roman Catholic tradition. Confused, because my parents were not church goers and dad used the GD phrase when angry and frustrated. In spite of that the school and parents taught me some Christian ways. Some of the message came through and i have carried on my life following most of it's doctrines. Sinner I have been and continue to be.

Barba, it took me 60 some years to come to the conclusion that I am autistic. I am and have always been different. Not the most popular thing to be.

You only have to be popular with you. Be happy in a tribe of one.

We are who we are. Why? We have volition and we make choices with it.
live with your choices. Do your best. Try to be kind to all.

Fuck you if you don’t agree with me - if you don’t you will not get to Valhalla 😳😂

Now what happened to that wonderfully respectful attitude you displayed earlier about having respect for another persons opinion????
Mind you, Valhalla is not all it is cracked up to be. Fuel stations are few and far between!!! ❤️❤️

To live well on this earth is my desire. To be kind and forgiving and trying to understand my place in this world. Not easy but lately I have rediscovered that anger and fighting is counterproductive. Consider what is the next right thing to do.

Good wishes to all my friends on here.

Violence is often a measure that hope has been lost. Sound's to me as if you still have hope. Find the CORE that you do not want to lose. The rest is easy. Really!
