    Boot Mania

Well in the trip out west my boot shop sent me some pictures of some new boots. We finally went by there today and I walked out with five pairs.🤯

Three for Sandy and two for me. Sometimes you just gotta live large.

Me too. They are very urban cowboy for a man.

Ha ha both those are the ladies boots. Who’s looking gay now? Yes the black are caiman and a certainty could be a mans boot in the right size. The center pair are Pirarucu( fish) and the tops have quite a bit of shiny in them. They are the most feminine of the bunch

Mine are Kudu with the red tops and a greenish tint ostrich.

So talk about the Kudu leather, that’s a big animal, bound to be tough like buffalo or something, how does it look? premium price? I’m gonna google that.

Yea...but are they gay? Lololol! You earned that one Mel! honestly they are all nice boots, and remember, being gay doesn’t make you a bad person.

Well like everything else cowboy boot material and styles have changed. I’m not into the worn or antique looking finishes, a +$1k pair of dress boots ought to look clean and shiny, and if they aren’t dress boots then they are work boots and it doesn’t matter. I don’t even acknowledge the drugstore cowboy boot as real, if there were a gay cowboy category that’s where those belong. I’ve gone forever rejecting square toed cowboy boots, finally tried some and damned if they aren’t more comfortable.
I prefer a mildly undercut heal instead of the popular roper heals, and uppers made of the same skin as the lowers with finger holes cut into to top instead of straps, and no extra seams anywhere to accommodate the use of smaller pieces of skin.
I still like the looks of the old Tony Lama round toes that were popular in the 70’s like this, do these in a dark gator belly, uppers & lowers with my initials filigreed into the front of the uppers, some colorful accent stitching, and I’m happy.

The Kudu are a little thick but not to stiff. The finish is not shiny or sueded butin between. I got them for $410. They are to nice for rough outdoor work but they could do that kind of service. They’ll go well in my office for work.

BTW I’m not gay as evidently the fact that I bring my nookie with me to the RAA events.😂 Not to many other” men” do.🤨

I used to hate the look of the square toe but have completely changed my mind. I now have all kinds of toes and heals. I’m not a big fan of the roper toe however. They look to big , round and thick. I’ve already got something like that.🤣

Mel, teasing you about gay boots is all in fun, don’t take it any other way. You’ve got a good woman in Sandy, I wish I were so lucky...I don’t care what everyone else says, I like both of you!
Im interested in the kudu skin, it looks good, those are Anderson Bean boots? The price isn’t prohibitive, wonder if I could get a jacket made out of it...

Yes I know it’s all on fun. If I did turn gay however I’d make a good one. I sure know how to play with a dick. Lord knows I’ve nearly jerked mine out by the roots thousands of times. A kudu jacket would be a bit heavy, very tough and the coolest thing ever. If you do get one or have one made you had better let me in on the deal.

My foot is too big to slip down the shank of a standard cowboy boot. Never could rotate my foot down flat and that is why I wear the lace-ups. These boots have a generous toe supported by a composite material meeting 29 FR 1910.136. The sole is non-slip, oil-resistant with a steel shank.

For dress, I have a black pair

I'm also sure a someone will mention REAL riders would have marked / worn areas over the left big toe

One question - is this boot made from pangolins - you caused the corona virus didn't you

I haven't worn pull on boots since I was in my 20s, I'm probably too old, fat and arthritic to get them on and off now, but I always wore square toed boots. We called pointy shoes or boots Dago boots or Dago shoes back in the day, lol.

I really dig those boots and had a few pair in my 20's. My roommate was a bull rider and he toured the circuit but got hurt and worked as a carpenter. All his friends were cowboys and hit the Clayton club in Clayton where there was a guaranteed fight every night. I now collect tennis shoes but I keep the rotation around 6 or seven pair. 👟
