I do an excellent line in foil hats if anybody is interested. Simple fact is that EVERYTHING YOU DO ON AN INTERNET CAPABLE DEVICE CAN BE COLLECTED AND MONITORED. If you don't carry or use a mobile phone - then it cannot. If you don't use a computer it cannot. What you can do is give those listening an almighty headache - legally. I don't mean to sound like an alarmist, but it scares me stupid how much trust folk place on EASY TO USE. Last week millions of folk left WhatsApp in a few hours following their new "Privacy Policy" being announced. Basically it isn't private. Facebook can record it. I received an invite to participate in Beta Testing having to sign an NDA. Only to find the discussion room was Facebook. I told them where to stick it. Every time I see a "contact us via facebook" sign - I send " You have lost a prospective customer". TV news usually isn't.Originally posted by 1K9 View Post

I applaud Protonmail. I use their VPN too. Both as Plus (paid) Accounts. My reasons for using PROTON are (other than safety) supporting dissidents. The FREE Proton (Mail and VPN) are safe and I wish to help others less fortunate.
But Surfshark VPN is one of the best - despite being a bit of a newcomer - well done!. In some respects better than Proton.
If you are up for one or two tiny tweaks - FireFox is well locked down and head and shoulders better than the rest. But I run several different browsers - using each one for specific tasks (i.e. Forums via Waterfox). One thing I do suggest - is implementing the VPN inside the router you use at home. This may well require a new router. This way you cannot forget to use VPN ever.

I am using uh Apple of course...Big Sur 14.0.1 to be exact. What are my other options...linux? -
Linux gives you control. If you are ULTRA paranoid use something that runs in RAM only. TAILS would be the de facto foil-hat wearers choice. I use LinuxMint. Professionally I have to use Windows - but I use the Server versions and lock them down even then.

The gun debate. Soon they will outlaw Martial arts and Karate Schools because they incite violence. Teaching personal defence will be outlawed. They will be deemed assault defense techniques. Only TaiChi as a dance for old citizens will be allowed and well monitored. Big aggressive military style dogs....gone. No german shepherd, or pitbulls or boxers or dobermans or rottwilers. Only chiwawas and toy poodles allowed. hahahaha. Tha's what 80 million want. Total people control and obedience or else well give you the covid.

I know several people who have guns and sables and knives and have never used them. You don't buy a Samurai sword to chop heads. You don't buy a gun to kill or be a vigilante. I have guns that i have never fired. Bought them just to look at and clean and just enjoy to have. You don't buy a fast car to break the speed limit. That logic is crooked. -

Unless you are nancy pelosi, or someone in her camp. Then you bring in 25,000 national guard "persons" to dance for you. This is the HR method... you signed the agreement hahaha got'cha, your rights are puff once you enter our control zone. aaaan we have have 100 attorneys on staff that are friends with ladyjustice.
