Licence free - Airguns upto 24.2Joules (about 18ft-lbs). With Shotgun Ticket (which is easy to get) - Upto 6 shotguns, Rimfires and over power Airguns(long and short). Centrefire Ticket - upto 6 long arms (in addition to the shotties). Restrictions an arms chambered for Military rounds. Pistols are ONLY available to Military, Certified LEO's and Certified PlainClothes security (bodyguards). There ARE ways to get a pistol if you are a certified hunter of "Dangerous Game CONTROL" - i.e. WILD BOAR - VERY HARD TO GET UNLESS YOU ARE EMPLOYED TO DO SO. One tiny issue with Rimfires is that the law specifically states .22LR - So a .17HMR theoretically is not covered - but no issues. Generally you need to show you have a place to use them (Hunters Licence - or Gun Club). You can have a COLLECTORS LICENCE - but this excludes ammo. Mrs B. has always been very resistant for me to have "Firearms" - she is frankly concerned (with right) that I would not hesitate to use them. The Psychopath diagnosis does not help my case. I have had Pistols and Rifles in the past (UK). I am terrible with a pistol. I'd need a sawn off 12g pistol to hit anything. Rifles - I am "proficient", leastways I was - been a while since I have done much, even with air. I did Gunsmith Certification. But I always concentrated on air. Spain is quite possibly one of the more lenient Western European countries in this respect. Hunting is a HUGE pastime. But as all land belongs to somebody - large game is a rich man's sport. If you look at the Province of Madrid. A small populated province. 74% of all land is registered as hunting ground. So called "Rough Shoot" is almost non existent.

I just bought a H&K 416 22 L for target practice. it's 2 months minimum wait time. I then go back to the dealer and have my DOJ back ground and then wait 11 days before they hand it over. I can't get the 30 round clip only the 10 round clip. The whole clip thing is back in court but there's a stay so I'll have to wait for the final ruling. California sucks ass!!
