This time my sister Imelda, for you guys that have been to my house, she lives 2 houses down the road across the street, she tested positive yesterday after feeling bad, she seems to be doing good so far but she self isolated and is in good spirit.
My brother in law on the other hand, not my sister's husband, but my wife's brother, tested positive last week and is in miserable condition (his own words). My wife and i will be going to get tested tomorrow since we were in contact with them both last week. This thing needs to go away!!!!!

I've a mate in the UK who was "sick" for 2 weeks. Another 10 weeks to fully recover. Even young Nat67 said he suffered. I think when it comes down to it - If you are even marginally off 100% fit when it hits - it's gonna hurt. If you have anything weak in your respiratory system - you are gonna get real hurt.

My missus will be among the first in Spain to be offered the vaccine. She has chronic Asthma. With luck I will be offered it too. Mainly because I think once it's available - it will become the ONLY easy way to cross borders. And I want to plan to see my mum.

I've already had a letter from the DHSC - Dept. for Health and Social Care - stating I will be in the 3rd group to get the vaccine. As you say, once administered it will allow cross border travel once again. Keep me up to date with your condition. It is always much better to talk about these nasty little bugs, it helps to get them in perspective and helps to understand the do's and don'ts connected. Trying to get answers out of the oncologists in a language I could understand was nigh on impossible and google was a definate NO! As for the vaccine, it has to be the best political tool to beat people with for decades. A sad situation which will affect all and sundry regardless of their views on the virus. Apparently this is the virus up to its bad tricks . Over 6 weeks now I have been pretty infirm . I've had Malaria since 1989 (thank you so very much to Tanzanian mosquitoes and Ethiopian Airways for introducing me to them with that extra overnight near the lake). The first decade thereafter was dire - I would suddenly without notice get a 40-41°C fever - sweat profusely - lose all energy and then 2 days later just feel drained. The minute I can get a vaccine - I will - just for travel.

Of course one might be in the 5-7% for which it proves ineffective, but C'est la vie. Anti Malarials proved to be a non 100% solution too.

My dear friend GOC... thank you for your insight. My doctor has been trained to be tacit. Most doctors have been. If not, their experiences in training does. This young man has spent most of his life in training, dealing with life and death on a daily basis. So far his recommendations and orders have been on-target. He gets my respect. I think I am getting the correct treatment. It looks like you did too.

Yes! The conversations with this gang are therapeutic. Google can be a useful tool. It provides fast access to medi-data and cross referencing. That's how I use it.

I agree with you on it being one's personal responsibility to find balance in the mist of this covid thing. I stand on the side of safety because I want to live. As to the rest of the theories, there is a lot of speculating and interested parties.

Genomics in medicine has been around for over 20 years. Lots of brain power has been dedicated to it and it is paying off. My contribution is small... a sincere prayer that these folks hit a bull's-eye and that their work is fruitful. When they are ready, I am. What I don't understand is the people like myself who don't want to take the vaccine for reasons I won't delve into at the moment but should be automatically protected via herd immunity. If you have to fly or enter certain buildings you might be blocked for some time. Just like after 9/11. Please folks now is the time to be very picky about where the products you buy are made. Do your best to not purchase "Made in China" items. I know it is hard, but at least try. If you look around you can find products made elsewhere.

Also be sure to let your vendors know you wish to not participate in supporting products from China and you are willing to pay for products to be made elsewhere. Since we are a global community, I would say tell the vendors you would prefer products produced in your own home country as the most preferable.
