Paul said I can remove the insert in the muffler and wrap it with glass packing or steel wool.

The packing burns out. That's what I think happened to my TORS. They just got louder and louder. Hans'O tunes are so hot the tailpipe works as an afterburner.

Perhaps Morris will have news from him. Heard he's coming to Leakey.

Picked up the Barnett clutch kit from Boise Triumph so it is time to start tearing down. Started the tear down today 4-12. Jerry came over to help and make a video of the process. Didn't get a lot done as we started late due to morning appointments.

Here is today's video. Thanks Justdad.

Had 2 intake valves gone bad. The valve seat area had hammered. Valve seat in head ok. Got 2 new ones. Lapped in all the valves yesterday.

Taking the head to the machine shop today to get a little porting done.

Have a little problem in cylinder 1. Slightly scored. Neville says this in not so uncommon. He has seen it before. He said to sand it down and just go with it. Got the highs knocked off and can only feel a little valley with my finger nail.

Lead machinist at the shop I took the head to said it doesn't look bad to him either. He said if I bring the bike over he will run a hone in there for me for free. He said it will only take a few seconds with the hone to clean it up.

And if you let the gubment do it with their super duper asshole hone with the built in ridge reamer they use on the U.S. population, it will only take a few seconds 😭

Having machinist do a complete valve job. He did not like my lapping work. It was Ok, but the valve job will be much much better. He will gap my valves to the new cams as well so that will be all good to go.

Hmmm, he didn't like your lap work. Not sure what to do with that!

Had the machinist at the shop doing my head work run a hone through the 3 cylinder bores today. Just 10 seconds in each hole and they turned out looking great. The scratches in cylinder 1 are gone. Happy Day.
