Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY during the Carter administration?

Anybody? Anything? Anyone? No? Didn't think so!

Bottom line is, we've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency, the reason for which very few people who read this can remember!

The Department of Energy was instituted on 8/04/1977, TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.

AND NOW IT'S 2022 -- 45 YEARS LATER -- AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS "NECESSARY" DEPARTMENT IS AT $242 BILLION A YEAR. IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE!

(THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?") 34 years ago 30% of our oil consumption was foreign imports. Today 70% of our oil consumption is foreign imports.

Ah, yes -- good old Federal bureaucracy.

NOW, WE HAVE TURNED OVER THE BANKING SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE, AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY TO THE SAME GOVERNMENT? What can possibly go wrong?

Nope, but I do remember TX Gov Rick Perry, when out in the lead running for POTUS, screwed up trying to remember his own list of agencies he would eliminate if elected. The one he forgot was ENERGY. The same one he headed up for Trump a few years later. After the memory loss, Perry plummeted to the bottom of the polls and subsequently dropped out.

I did not vote voe either one but,,,,,do you really think the president has the power to raise and lower prices of gas or anything else for that matter? If so, is he president of the entire world? The entire world has high prices/
If i remember correctly, when gas was extreamly cheap and a lot of people was out of work because it was not cost effective to drill, i remember people with a very mad tone sayin "Thanks Obama" , even tho Trump was President, they were blaming it on the last administration, even tho they knew the President has nothing to do with it, (but you already knew that). Then there is the infamous pipe line that was shut down and everybody keeps complaining about; How many gallos of oil was that supplying to the US? According to what i have heard, don't qoute me on that but, that pipe was NEVER open, and if it did, it was going to bypass the US, am i correct? if not, please tell me why and with a source etter than a utube video or a very unknown independent link that no one has heard of before but swears to be true.
Ups and downs will always be here, how we take them is up to us, in my case i take them with a smile and make the most of it. Exemple; I sold a house last week for twice as much as what i paid for it, life is to precious to waste it paying too much attention to people that don't deserve it.

In short, it is the idea that the most powerful countries of the world become, as one entity, leaders of the whole world (Nato is a version of this) and they want to make ALL of the rules that the whole world is to follow. It started being brought out more boldly by George H.W. Bush when he was in office (And he was a republican)

My Dad (RIP) had a number of rentals. When the renters continually failed/refused to pay their rent,
after three months we went and removed all of the exterior doors.
Worked a charm in the day - likely we'd be arrested today.

I did the rental thing in my mid twenties before computers. Had two duplexes. I had to use supplied references. You know how that worked out. Lots of bad tenants that I couldn't do a thing too. They had all the rights. Sold after 10 years and left with 21K for all that aggravation. Could have made the same with a CD! Today its much better. You have credit scores...criminal reports, employment etc to all easily verify. I must be stupid as I am giving it a go again at 64!

This should be a wakeup call if you don’t already know this….A recent poll was conducted by a national polling outfit. Names don't matter. They are all the same. This one was "YOUGOV".

Results to these questions asked of average people on the street.

What percentage of the country is black? Answers 41%. Actual, 12%

What percentage is "Latino"? Answers 39%. Actual numbers 17%

How many families make over $500,000 a year? Answers 26%. Actual figure? 1% We think a quarter of the country is rich.

What percent of American's are vegetarians? Response? 30% Actual? 5%

What percent of American's live in NY city? Answers? 30% Actual 3%.

What percentage of American's are 'transgender? 22% Actual number, 1% (People believe this BS!)
