Clint; I don't think they know if any jab will give you any additional protection. I have several close friends, one of them a medical doctor, who refuse to get the jab. Sorry if it sounded like I was objecting to your comments. I did not. I agree with you. If I would have suffered the infection I would seriously object to any inoculation. I have the same distrust you have, not just with this jab but with medicine in general. Power hungry politicians and money hungry doctors makes for a killer cocktail. The late effects of this experiment are likely to be bad news. I think some people know and just won't tell.

An interjection: -
Despite being all "vaccinated" - A good friend of my missus was found to be positive (her mother having been ingressed into hospital and testing positive). As the missus had had lunch with her the day before the hospital thing, well she had to have the PCR test despite being also vaccinated. Came back negative yesterday. The missus is a "HIGH RISK" - as she has respiratory issues any way. I didn't get tested. If the missus had come back positive - then I'd have to - and would then have had a week free of work too.
The "jab" can indeed increase your resistance to the point of viral rejection if exposed. But more likely is that it will reduce the symptomatic effect it has on you. The missus' friend said she just felt sniffly (so probably Delta). She tends to get "sick" if she catches something, so I think the jab helped her.
The only way to avoid needing the jab ad infinitum is for everybody to develop natural resistance (or die).
One way is to reduce the social and commercial impact by using a vaccine - potentially making more folk seem asymptomatic - and spreading the beast unknowingly. Also maybe providing a mutation platform - but that will happen anyway.
The other way would have been expose everybody on day 1 and simply accept higher mortality. I have advocated for this since day 1. It would have reduced pension payouts, reduced unemployment ----- the list goes on. I have zero empathic response - I actually see almost no downside.
But richer humans tend to be a bunch of wusses when it comes to accepting mortality.

Barba... You are advocating for mass genocide as a therapy!? Accept premature mortality so that state's coffers don't get stressed!? Wow. This is like saying, to reduce global warming lets kill 100 billion people and use their carcasses to make protein wafers or fertilizer. We have talked about Soylent Green here in this forum before. It's nuts. Barba, it is corruption and greed for power and money that stress the coffers of society.
This virus is going to to take it's course regardless. Everyone is going to suffer the infection eventually. Some will live and many will die. This virus is a monster that was artificially inserted into the common cold viral capsule. It is not like other viruses or plagues humanity has seen before. Even those viruses that have been reduced to almost extension somehow re-surge. So, what do we do? Each person will have to make a choice as to what is best for them and theirs's to survive. Some will have more choice than others. Some will have no choice at all.
"But richer humans tend to be a bunch of wusses when it comes to accepting mortality." All I can say is wow, your are ruthless.

I'm not suggesting ACTIVELY killing off old folk - well not yet!. Ever see Logan's Run? - 100Billion sounds a bit on the low side though.
I am however suggesting that we allow nature to decide. Yup! - when it comes to death - I am without empathy. Fearing death - well that's plain stupid. Coz it's going to happen.

Aaaaahhh, Okay, that sounds much more reasonable. My advanced directives clearly instruct that, in the event of my impeding death with severe disability being my state in the event of surviving, no drastic measures be taken. You see, I have had both my parents and my wife's parents opt to die at home in peace and seen the effects of heroic medicine keep someone alive a few more months in a hospital bed or nursing home. It is not pretty.
Providing folks the option to prolong their lives is the duty of medicine. Preparing to die is easy if you are a Christian.

It looks like the Phyzer jab is loosing efficacy to the delta variant. False info going around that all getting sick are non-vaxed folks. Even if you had the jab, you gota be careful. Contact precautions, no face touching, wash hands or carry your hand gel stuff. This chit ain't going away. I have yet to now of anyone wh0 had the covid and re-infected with the delta variant. Stay alert, this is for real.

He paid with this life. Sorry about your friend. I'm afraid this respiratory virus new function is going to stay with us forever. It will be like the Pox virus that exterminated the Native American Indians. Probably something like this exterminated the central and south American Indians too. Only the very isolated or naturally immune will survive.
