Well isn't this a way to steal what you can not earn politically? Even when some people win they are never satisfied.

We'v been doing it wrong for over 245 years. We need a member of each race and gender and sexual preference on the court. In the future only the house of representative will be able to appoint the judges. No more of this president appointing judges unless the house asks the president to do so. The house will also appoint some judges temporarily and some to permanent status. There you go... that is more just.

- You know that thing in your head that tells you not to say things?........ Yea, I don't have one
As it now stands out of the 9 Justices, Supposedly 6 are conservatives and 3 are liberals - But we all know that the Chief Justice John Roberts always rules on behalf of any liberal agenda. So in reality it is a 5-4 conservative lean.
If this "packing" is allowed the 4 new J's will all be VERY liberal and will give them a 8-5 domination.
Now the far leftist were all on stage in front of the Supreme Court today talking about how the republicans have stacked unfairly, and they are going to make the changes to sway this S/C to be a more fair panel.
Uh..... Yea, 8-5 strongly out of the closet, far left decision makers is reeeeeeeally gonna make things more fair
If this is allowed to go through there will be no recovery in our lifetime or our children's lifetime

and they will appoint VERY young persons so they will be there for another 60 or 70 years. Then if the Republicans can get back in (now that it is known that you can rig an election and get away with it that is a BIG IF) and reduce the court back to 9, which they could probably only do by attrition as they can't be fired, the older judges will be gone first and you will still have a very stacked to the left court - which will not change in our lifetime.

Where can we get a list of the soup court decisions of the last 5 years? They operate incognito. Their decisions have impact but no news coverage unless it is roe vs wade related. The same with the appeals courts. These judges have life changing power an nobody covers their activities.

Got the solution for the police shooting people. The guy from Bounty Hunters suggested getting the lead out of the bullets. I say not defund but Disarm the Police. In England the street cops don't have guns. I wonder if they are victims of shooters. Hire many more officers and give them non-lethal weapons. Stop making stupid traffic stops. Don't use the cops to collect taxes. Don't send a cop to be killed or to kill someone over an expired tag or bad bulb or a few mph over the limit. Stop only drunks wondering allover the road late at night. Put them in the slammer until they are sober and let them go. Offer them rehab. Serve warrants with overwhelming force only. SWAT kind'a thing. If you shoot and kill a cop... mandatory death penalty, federal mandate. No sanctuary crap for cop killers.

Actually - Most UK cops carry now ime. But so do Spanish and German and French - They don't get shot at either. I have a mate in the Czech Republic that has a Fully Auto Concealed Carry Permit - he does not really need it and freely admits he's not sure he'd react fast enough now. It's far more a US cultural thing than anything else imo.
And yes - I am ABSOLUTELY PRO GUN OWNERSHIP - BUT WITH A PROVISO. Mandatory proficiency testing. Here's why - I can't hit shit with a pistol. I know - I have had them. From semiautos to full on made to measure match pistols. Give me a reasonable rifle and you can run 500metres and I can still head shot you with a 7.62 kneeling. Well OK I could - but I dont think it'd take much to get me back up to speed.Last edited by barbagris; 04-17-2021, 02:42 AM.

Fixed it for ya 😉
It’s what will keep us free from outside invasion and tyranny from within. If it keeps going the direction it’s going the world will see that this woke shit will not stand. 💪

The thing is that the cops are scared too when they stop a citizen. Fear takes over them and reason goes out the window. Grab your gun and save your life mode it is. Sooo, stop stopping people for little things. To many fine family men have been killed during traffic stops. It's not worth it.
These days Karen calls and complains and here come the cops armed to wreck your life. These guys should not carry lethal weapons unless they are on a mission that requires so. Assuming every stop is going to become a kill or be killed situation is causing problems. The cops and some folks see daily life in that mode.
We just need a lot more cops. In some areas on every corner. Cameras are everywhere but crooks don't care. There are no consequences on crime. It is a free for all in many places. Defunding the police will not solve the problem. Disarming the police should reduce cop on folk shooting events. By dis-arming I mean taking lethal force from their waist belt.
250 years ago I could see The People taking arms against the government. These days they are to numerous and heavily armed. There could be a few shootings. Instances like that have posted here. Combating tyranny has be done differently. All out war is not an option.
Guns in the hands of street police with little training and no experience in spite of years of service is causing problems.
For the regular folk like us, using lethal force against a criminal can backfire. What happens if you shoot someone who is threatening you. Grand Jury for sure. 25k for starters then the law suit by the family of the criminal. The price of protecting yourself with a guns is very high.Last edited by 1K9; 04-17-2021, 03:54 PM.

I think the problem goes beyond the police. The problem starts with crime. We have way too many single parent households breeding future criminals. These problems should be stopped before the runins with the cop ever happens.
im sorry but these people that have been killed by police for the most part have not been upstanding citizens.

Perhaps we need to rename this thread. One more fatal shooting. Everyone looses and nobody wins. The girl lost her life, the cop lost his career, the land looses it's peace.
Enforcement technology that has to come to the rescue. The bar of deadly force need to be raised. There is not a single solution for all communities. Perhaps taking lethal power from the police's belt might save the nation from suffering more of these events. How much of a deterrent are these non-lethal rubber bullets? Perhaps a super loud horn might have stopped this rabid girl from attacking with a knife in from to the police. Whatever,... the strategy of trying to stop an assailant with lead bullets is causing big problems. The police need a different strategy and alternate modes of self defense and enforcement. The leaded bullet needs to be reconsidered. If a cop refuses to police without leaded bullets, no problem, let them train to be SWAT, or a different force. No guns out unless you are taking fire. I don' know... something other than approaching a confrontation with lead in hand.
It's not defund the police but disarm the police. I know it sounds nuts but what we are doing is not working in this day and age of cameras everywhere with immediate posting of the event to the public square.

I hear ya Rick but if the bad guys have real bullets it might be an unfair advantage. While I really don’t trust LE I doubt they are shooting people for the thrill of it. Most shootings are aimed at people committing violent crimes.Originally posted by 1K9 View PostPerhaps we need to rename this thread. One more fatal shooting. Everyone looses and nobody wins. We have a hot spot here in Knoxville, a high school of predominantly black students where five have been killed recently but only one bu the cops. No one is discussing the roots of the problem. It would not be politically correct to do so in public. They never even mention color and the BLM people are not showing up at all.
