    Drag racing

M buddy Jerry and I have been drag racing about 5 or 6 times a season since 2016 at Firebird Raceway. We go on the Test and Tune days and Bike Nights. We always race against each other unless I'm late due to work and miss the first run. He brings his Triumph Thruxton R and his BMW R9T/5. I bring my Rocket and Moto Guzzi 1200. In all these years I have only won 1 time. Jerry had a bad launch and I made NO mistakes on that race. Yesterday was the last T&T of the season. Jerry asked me to bring my son's Kawasaki ZX1400R. I thought my son would say no, so I planned to sneak it out of the garage. Well that didn't seam right so I told him 5 minutes before leaving for the track I was going to race his bike today. He said OK. I was stunned. Off to the track I rode. I was tempted several times to twist the throttle hard, but I was a good boy riding there.

I won all 4 races. What fun. Best was 10.7 sec at 134 MPH. Jerry made a really nice video he posted on Youtube.

So does the Truxton out run the Rocket? One of the most well done videos I’ve seen done in along time. Very professional looking all the way.

Not the red one pictured but unfortunately the modified 2016 1200 Thruxton R does outrun my Rocket in a drag race. His best is 11.6 mine is 12.1.
