RIP Randy G

I don’t know why I’m posting this under random neural firings but I reckon it’s what Randy woulda wanted.
Most of you long timers know Randy Gettinger aka Old N’ Grumpy
Well he passed away in his sleep Thursday morning at the age of 66. Had a heart attack.
he had recently got remarried to a lady he has known since college. Had just bought land on a lake in Florida with a boat dock, boat, and all that that entails.
He was such a good person. I’m gonna miss him. Just talked with his wife a while ago. She’s devastated. Please pray for her.

Sad ,devastating news for sure I never met him myself just thru the forum he sounded like a man who said what he felt not caring on you agreeing with him or not. Dont know why the good ones go first unless, the lord is picking his team.REST IN PEACE BROTHER keep following the front wheel

I never met him in person either but we’ve shared many and long conversations mostly texting.
in the last eight years we’ve talked at least once a week.
I was planning on go to his place on the lake and staying for a few days but it didn’t happen. Dammit!

This one hit me like BlastedBones on the original R3 site. I really liked reading their posts due to using humor and intellect to get their points across. Both well respected men. Man, the good ones are falling all around me. Just depressing as hell.

Randy and I would send each other bottles of rum and tequila on our birthdays.
the last year or so he quit drinking, so he quit sending 🤣🤣🤣

Strange timing but my HS 50 year reunion is tonight and me and my HS buddy were going to go in the East bay area (Pleasant Hill) . He got sick from an infection for shoulder surgery so we cancelled. I was sent a memorial on the classmates that died in the last 50 years. There was around 50 or so. Some I had seen 15 years ago. It does make you stop and think. I'm getting up there. 68 years old although I honestly look like I'm 67 so I'm proud of that.😁 My legs look a little short in the pic but that's just a bad angle.👍

Our class keeps a tally, I think there's 150 gone out of around 725 or so. Western NY is a notorious cancer cluster, all the Great Lakes drain into the Niagara River, where the water intake is. You weren't supposed to eat fish out of it for 25 or 30 years, yet the water was pumped to everyone's faucets. 🤔🤮

That is a lot. We had around 550 and about 60 or so have passed.
