    Insurance

I saw there was a thread on the other forum involving theft and insurance was discussed. I dont post on that forum but Ive been an adjuster for about 6 years now.

My experience is 90% on the homeowners/business side of things but i have a little on auto/liability.

If you guys have any questions let me know.

Except FL. All logic goes out the window with florida laws.

I was an auto adjuster for a couple of years. I quit after only two years because I want to go to heaven when I die.
    Questions? 😁

So whenever a vehicle is a total loss the adjuster has 3 numbers a high low and middle. They will always start with the low. I always advise people to go to local car sites and get their own numbers to argue back.

No offense meant atlsrt44 but imo insurance always tries to fuck you and they get away with it the majority of the time. Most people just take what's offered not knowing any better. I have never accepted a first offer and right now I am arguing with State Farm over my stolen aluminum trailer. They said they had three comps showing what it was worth. I said show me. Well sure enough all three comped my trailer conveniently missing two options I had which amounted to about $700. This, after I had given them my itemized bill of sale they still tried to screw me. Never trust them!

A guy pulled out in front of me two weeks ago and I just got the news that my car is totalled. They told me how much they'd pay in these emails:

Oh, and yea, there is a way to get more - Tell em since the accident your neck has been getting really stiff and sore, now it's radiating down your right arm and the arm is starting to lose strength. It wasn't that way at first, but now it is becoming an issue.
Disclosure: I'm not advocating pulling the "dollar collar" scam...... But, If they are not giving you a fair offer, it is a way to get another grand or two. Don't sign a release until you feel they've made things right. Know what I mean?

Do your own research and send it back to them. Nada, kbb, even go so far as to look on cars.com for your area. The key is to be as close to your original car as you can and to provide more than 1 example.

And also go to some of your local big car lots and dealerships websites and try to find a comparative vehicle (same year, make, model, options and close on mileage) - hopefully their prices are higher than the ones the insurance company found. Then you have negotiating leverage. They have to pay average of comparative vehicles in your area
