Handgun practice

So that kid that stopped the mass shooter in indy put 8 of 10rds into the scrawny little bitch at 40yds with a glock 9mm.

I dont know about the rest of you guys but most of my handgun practice has been around 10yds or so.

I went to the range today and tried my micro 9 at 50yds.

Lets just say I need alot more practice.

Me? I might with optics given a few tries on the range. Using iron sights pumped full of adrenaline in a real situation I wouldn't bet on it.

Likely 40 feet.
Tell shooter to make a video doing this at 40 fuckin yards.
I shoot regularly to qualify. Our farthest head & torso target is 15 yards, 45 feet, away.
It is very difficult landing rounds within the kill zone (5 rounds in 5 seconds) bursts

How hard is it for investigators to lay down a tape measure? Multiple sources have stated 40yds. Trust me its not something I can do.

I imagine it’s the same reason you went and tried your 9mm at 50yds. Now you know how hard it is to be accurate with a pistol at 40+ yds. I’ve tried it, only way I can approach accurate is with a 10” barreled .22 and holographic sight.
A 22 year old with a concealed carry piece doing what he did is incredible, I thought it sounded like a bullshit story. I would like to see the video of it and know what kind of sights he had. I think it’s likely he was advancing as he fired and his first shot was from 40, which could have been a miss, with subsequent shots being at closer range…

I believe you are correct that he was advancing. But I also read his first shot hit and pretty much dazed the shooter.
