Dammit - I really am getting old or lazy or both.

Since getting the Guzzi V85TT - I have pretty much just jumped on it every time to get a few more miles on it and loosen everything up. Not actually dome many miles as we have had shitty weather on many of my "free" days and I really don't do wet if I don't have to.

But Yesterday thought - "better give the KTM a run". Was just going to see a couple of mates in the hills. After less than 20 miles - realized I am no longer in love. The only real way to enjoy the wee Austrian beastie is hard and fast. And that's hard to do in traffic with a copper behind you.

The Guzzi might feel "lacklustre" - but it's excellent as a "just ride" mount.

So - methinks the KTM will have to go to a new home.

Of course I may then just have to buy another Guzzi - or are 3 Guzzis too many?

Im not going to lie. I saw a 2020 eldorado the other day and damn near bought it.

Had a 1993 Eldo, was a good ride. New ones are likely better.
I did recently read that GM is now owned by China???

Sometimes we get caught up in the intoxicating torque and HP the Rocket delivers. I like to just putt around at times and do wish I had a more flickable bike like my old 1981 Yamaha 1100. It was lite, had great get up and go and just fun to ride. I do miss that. It was fun to go long distances due to one factor, my young age. No windshield or bags. I couldn't handle anything over 100 miles on it now me thinks. The Guzzi El Dorado was on my radar for a while as it looked like a laid back fun ride. The problem is I don't always feel laid back. More so now than then but if I was rich, so many Motorcycles, so little time. I see one more bike in my future (maybe two) so I'll look at everything. I stopped trying to be cool long ago so if I dig it I'm getting it. 👍

Have you ever gone back and read posts after a few weeks and thought, WTF. The fact that I used the word 'intoxicating' should put me in line for a weeks suspension. Oh well, carry on.

My dad had a 75(?) eldorado with the 650 twin. He loved that bike

I know it sounds weird but just the thought of riding an older bike like the 1975 Guzzi El Dorado gets the blood flowing. Where's the little woman when I need her? I do believe it was a police bike in 75 in some areas like California.

It was indeed and so the Moto Guzzi California was born.

The Goldwing has been my ride of late since the R3 is shopbound, again. Starting to look at a new KTM 1290 or a Kawasaki H2 for thrills w/o always sitting at the gas station splashing gas everywhere or waiting for a Triumph tech to plug it in... latte?

      Aprilla Tuono V4?
Or if you're feeling flush - the New Bimota Tesi (H2 but lighter and so quicker). https://bimota.it/tesi-h2/?lang=en

      The H2 is killer!
Claviger has one now since his 260 whp Roadster is bound for the salt next summer.

I'd like more reliability this time. But then I have considered the new V4 Diavel coming out. Even looked at the new Busa but not fond of fairings. A hyper naked with a small windshield and loads of twist.

Looking forward to riding one of these next week. https://www.motoguzzi.com/en_EN/models/v100/

Went last week, but they were preparing for a big launch.

Press seems to love them. It's a Guzzi, so I am automatically biased.

Still not advertised the KTM - but we should have good photography weather this weekend. 😉

I do like Guzzi's but never owned one. I didn't look at the California because I had a 14 Rocket with 142 hp. Why would I go to 96 hp. Now if they still made them I would give it a second look and a proper ride. I love my Rocket but too many things going/gone wrong with it. I don't trust riding long distances and that's not good. The California and Triumphs Speedmaster are what motorcycles should look like to me. So confused.

I will say if I had one more space in my garage I would fill it with a speed master I have always like that bike except when they did away with the dual disc front brake.

I have the room in the garage although I would lose a wife. Let me think about it. Nope, not a good move.😁

I did. It was quick, light and small. Outstanding fun. But 2 hours is about it without a rest/stop/break. And it truly provokes you towards hooliganism. This seems to be a KTM trait.

I think Guzzi Dan has 4 of them, so you're good, lol.

That is a beautiful bike. I keep going back and forth on my last motorcycle and what it will be. A Triumph Speedmaster or T 120 following the old classic lines. Then I see something like the Stelvio and doubt myself. It's going to be hard decision. I'll worry about it in 10 or so years.

My local Guzzi service agent is off to see the Stelvio next weekend - although the Spanish dealer launch is today (IIRC). Over here we may not have "10 or so" years to decide. The EU has put 2035 as the date to stop all new Internal Combustion sales (though M/C are still a bit in limbo). The UK has set 2030. That's only 6 years. AFAIK in the UK it includes bikes. The V85TT was going to be my last - but I need a bit more grunt for highway work (which whilst I wish I did not really need - I do end up doing a lot of). I will not be jumping into it.

I'm being optimistic about 10 years. 5-10 years sounds more likely

Anyway Motorcycles are my thing. They always have been since I remember my dad and uncle riding their beat up Indians and HD around . As a kid we had a number of old junked Cushman and HD scooters we worked on that just never worked for more than a minute. Lots of Tote Goats and mini bikes. I truly get excited going to the local BMW/Triumph or KTM or even at a Honda dealership looking at the little Monkey scoots. So in essence I love ANYTHING on two wheels and would have zero problems riding around on a Vespa. I dig them all. I should have been a millionaire instead of being a State employed leach so I would have 1 of every motorcycle made. 😅

I like things that are esoteric. I always have and always will. But somehow I always end up wandering over to Guzzi's. It's like "comfort food". So - is my taste in comfort food odd too - Yup!.

So. Don't think I'll be getting a Stelvio. Ridden one and it did not shout "yea, buy me!". Happier on the little V85.

Of course as time flows buy - I'll end up with something like this, I guess. E-Bike. Helping a mate with his startup and this is the R&D frame I'm building up.

Every kid above 10 years old is out on these things. Driving during school start times is brutal. You have to dodge the little fucks or they will run into you. No enforcement from the police here. They disbanded the traffic division. 🤬
