EasTexOutlaw - here you go - it is regarding the origin of parts used to manufacture/assemble HD motorcycles. I do believe that there have been some comments removed as it doesn't flow too well!

The company assembles most of its bike lineup in Kansas City, Mo., and York, Pa. Its V-Twin engines are made in Milwaukee, and there's a small factory in Tomahawk that makes fiberglass and plastic components for some of the company's most expensive touring bikes.
Harley is moving the production of motorcycles destined for Europe to its international factories. The company is opening a plant in Thailand this year and has assembly plants in India and Brazil.

Your dreaming. Kansas city closed down months ago. Have torn into many a Harley engine to find stamped parts made in China. To each his own but i know better. The only thing Harley does is assembly the bikes here in the states. Parts are cheap China stuff. Love Harleys but American made is just a slogan. Unless you want to spend some money and build a real American motorcycle. Aftermarket support is unreal. Plenty of American companies support the tradition. Bottom line is Screaming Chicken parts are cheap but if you want a real harley build it yourself. I can build a Harley in my sleep. Have one good rep for building fast and solid Harleys.

Sonny's right about the Kansas City assembly plant. Shut down a couple years ago and the building is sold. Harley fucked over Kansas City and the employees. When the tax abatements ran out so did Harley.

Sunshine, as you call him, and I have had plenty of “ communications “. If you actually “ win” an argument with him he’ll never realize it.
