Not yet have not found out what is the problem. I do know for sure the motor is going to have to be split,and I do not have the tools,space,or time let alone the knowledge to do this on my own.So I am looking for someone I can feel confident and trust to do this work.Know anyone?

I have neither the time (work) or knowledge to be of real help.
Twas 40+ years ago since I did this kind of work and was on bikes MUCH simpler than a Rocket 3.

Have you looked at Joe Schmo's Rocket? I think it is still for sale.

Thats great to hear. I wish I'd have the gumption to work on mine. The only blessing is if I don't fix it there's no chance of having heart failure while riding. That would scare me to death

Plan is to take it to carpenter dont really need the extra hp or torque but it would give me the piece of mind that it was taken apart all the other shrapnel cleaned out and put together right said they would replace all the bearings and such on the bottom end looking around january or so Just what do you experts think? Are you just going to have them fix it, or hop it up also ?

If ya don’t want extra power at least have the upgraded clutch and clutch springs added

I did the same thing when my transmission went, I didn't trust anyone else to fix it right

Breeze on the other site there's a 2005 classic in albuquerque that is somewhat being parted out, approx. 30,000 miles with a comlete motor/trans combo....easy swap...??? sounds more than reasonable priced...

I've never heard of the guy. I think he made me new, but I dropped him a conversation asking if his engine was silver or black.

well, what did he say is it silver or black? I think my plan is to take it to carpenter thru winter (which really aint to far away)and have them go thru it that way at least I will have a little piece of mind that someone went thru it that has done it many times before instead of someone learning on my bike May be stupid but it does have some sentimental value (fathers day present 2007)same with all my other bikes after all its no good to me if I cant ride it

I am now good on the tank. All is well.
