Postponed a year due to COVID.
But hat's off to Guzzi for letting the world see her anyway. Dammit I do like Guzzis.

It sort of reminds me of several bikes from the early '80's. I see a bit of Benelli 900 Sei. A bit of LeMans even a bit of Laverda. My concern is the amount of electronics. That colour scheme is stunning. There are photos of a Red one flying about - but Metallic Red - all a bit sparkly.

The mechanic at my mates Guzzi shop is almost certainly banging his head against the wall. Guzzi has a tendency to make their plastic parts a PITA to remove for access to things like air filters. And the automatic airflow gizmos will drive him loopy. 😂

An update - The red one is not as metallic as the photos suggest. I have seen some better photos - not online :-) . It also does not have the electronic adaptive suspension of the Green/Silver one. Just over 2 months to wait for full spec's.

One of the reasons I was looking at Kawasaki was that new IMU controlled suspension. Oh and its 300 lbs. Lighter. My cardiologist told me switching to a lighter bike would make it easier for them to pick it up off of me when I fall over

More to point it's easier for folk to stop to assist to pick up. They guy who stopped to help when I dropped the KTM said - "Bloody hell, this is like picking up a bicycle". Mind you he was a bit of a big bloke.

So, Warpo, pray tell me . . .
What weighs 300 pounds and has the power to weight ratio of a 200+ RWHP Rocket?

After doing lots of research on Guzzy, i found out that is very hard to get the parts and the dealers suck, even to sell bikes, i tried for 3 months to buy the V85TT and had no luck, still waiting for the phone call, tomorrow i will go to Honda and buy a Monkey, it fits me better anyway

I have the advantage that my mate in Madrid runs what may be the best Guzzi workshop outside Italy. If I want a bike I tell him, and it'll be there PDQ. Spares take a couple of days usually. Loads of Euro4 bikes about and almost as many Euro5. Move to Spain!.

I love the Monkeys and Trail bikes. Such cool little, fun bikes. You can scoot anywhere and have a blast doing it. Mini type bikes are a kick!

KTM 1290 Superduke RR - 1000hp/ton. OK it's over 300lbs. Scary fast, Steve. Really. Go and try one.

Edited: If I had longer legs I would already be pining for the 1290ADV-S. But I don't so won't. 160horses 220kg.

I narrowed it down to 2 bikes, the Tiger low and the Gs1200 low, now to look for a used one that has been loved and not abused, i may even get to keep the X

Lupe - Aestetics aside - have you ridden a GS? - I have a "thing" about beemers in general but the big GS feels very top heavy imo. Like you I fancy an ADV "style" bike. I was stuck between the V85TT and the KTM890ADV - but the V100 Mandello has introduced doubt.

Never ridden a GS, only the R1200R, i like it but my daughter took posession of it and wont give it back, the V85 TT is a lovely looking bike but for my recent experience with the dealer i won’t be buting one anytime soon

I confess I am trying very hard to negate aesthetics from the wants list - Of course it matters but it matters more how it rides - and, I agree, support - though happily I am pretty self sufficient.

One comment - try a few ADV's. They handle differently to full on road bikes. It's a mix of tyre sizes and spoked wheels plus long travel suspension. In most cases the difference is negligible but some can become a bit "weird" in sharper corners.

This last week I turned OFF all the nanny controls (Traction Control, anti-wheelie etc-) on the baby duke by accident. About 100hp and 169kg dry. WAY more scary than an R3 with open pipes/filter and PCV tune by "Claviger" - The 1290KTM and H2 must be near un-rideable (on the road) without nanny. The KTM 1290 are reputed to always being about to bite you.
