You should ride a Rocket lll Roadster, not a tavern hopper R3.
There would be NO comfort issue!
I have thought about that. Was looking at a 2018 on cycletrader. I can't understand Triumph completely changing directions on the Rocket. These new ones are a lot of fun to goose around but traveling on one kinda sucks. Those tiny pegs get boring after a couple of hours. And stopping for gas every 100 miles or so bogs down the trip. I ordered a TomTom to hopefully keep in gas station range. There can be pretty long distances between them in places. Seems the low fuel light activates about 100 miles after a fillup. Then another 20 to 30 miles to empty. I start looking for one when the light comes on. Keep the gas card handy...

My 05 with Ramair, TORS & “ Happy Tune” gets about 135 miles per tank 😎

I have to agree with Bull. The longer rides start out with the newer Gen Rockets as very comfortable after you dial in the settings so I give the experience as better on my 2020. After the first 100 miles the seating and posture problems start with the newer gen Rockets. Your ass is planted in one spot only on my 2020 but on my 05 and 14 you could move your butt around a little. The tiny short pegs are a big problem with me on my 2020. Not comfy and you're always readjusting your feet. The ride itself is smoother on my 2020 although with the limited movement and foot position the 05 and 14 were much better long haul. I give the first 100 miles to the 2020 Rocket but after that easily the 05 and especially the 14 Rocket for comfort and reliability. The larger windshield on my 05 and 14 Rocket was perfect for long hauls also (I hope you enjoy it Rainman). I like my 2020 although I get nervous on longer rides due to the many problems from Fobs to brakes the newer gen has. After 4 years they still haven't sorted them out.

          Indeed, Mouse.
Both my Roadsters (2012 & 2012) have the Standard boards for increased ground clearance and comfort with shift levers directly mounted to crankcase with no linkage crap.
Did one 12,500 mile coast to coast in 2018 and doing another this June.
      Working...
