pissed off bummed out and grateful all at the same time

met up with the bunch from washington in springerville Az, going to get a late start this morning so I thought I would go get gas so I would be ready.bike made horrible noise right away thought detent spring but it did not jump out of gear when I got on gas but the noise was bad at motel we figured it was coming from drive line tube.SHIT splines gone?loaded up in uhaul and made it home need to take it apart and find out for sure whats wrong before I order any parts.at home it sounds like a card stuck in a bicycle wheel hitting the spokes at rear of motor but sounds vibrations can travel Good thing is it didnt happen in middle of nowhere (you ride new mexico arizonia o`r round here you will know what I am talking about) with no phone service on a black top hiway in 105 degree temperature.anybody got these suspected parts laying around?

      Was thinking about your breakage...
do you still produce 12 vdc? If you shook your stator loose, noise could be coming from that..,and yoh might loose 12vdc..or u-joint on drive shaft? Good hunting upon inspection. .Norm

no noise while coasting down road 30+/_ with clutch pulled in (from what i can tell with helmet on)but in any gear give it some throttle sounds terrible. In any gear let clutch out while holding front brake starts to pull good then it sounds like a card stuck in the spokes of a bicycle like you did when you were a kid. while rolling it around garage rolls good no noise drained motor oil over magnets thru a fine flour sifter nothing same with rear end (bevel box) was going tomorrow to harbor freight to get a lift table to spin back tire drop wheel and driveline and go from there BUT had one hell of a wind rain hail storm came thru my irrigation lines rolled thru my hay field into neighbors and looks like a big fucking pretzel got to replace at least 9 pieces or so thats about 2 grand.got to cut the elderly neighbors tree off his house and car in morning so life is getting in the way again(still).was able to jack back wheel off ground and spin tire sounds like a angry racoon growling in there before Karen lost her strength and balance of bike before she was going to drop it on me

not yet I am afraid it is internal and I do not have the correct tools to open the motor p and do not really trust the people around my area to open fix and put it back together correctly with no trouble in the future. Can I drop the oil pan and be able to see the internal final gears what about the transmission gears to try to narrow the problem.looking for someone that has tore the motor apart to kelp me with this someone on the forum that has done it before with success do you know anyone?

I think the first thing I'd do is drain the oil and drop the sump pan for a look see. If you find shrapnel in her you could narrow it down to tranny, clutch, or torsional output bearings just by the location of the debris. If there is you will also know why I drop the sump first verses rolling the engine over spreading the debris everywhere.
if you have to go furth you can alway put the sump pan back on and run a few bolts up finger tight.

Mine was torsional damper and broke 4th gear on output and the 3rd 4th slide dog on input took a chip, mine happened under hard acceleration while already turning 6k
