Ok so Pete one of the old rocket guys he lives next door to me today cam tensioner came off the bike this is the second time for this to happen and only about 2800 miles on the bike since carpenter just redid everything anyone else have issue with the manual tensioner? this is getting old will tear into it soon to see how much stuff got tore up. Called to talk to Bob and he wasn't in was told well not sure we can do anything to help out will try to get with him Monday if same answer I might have to take a trip up to NJ to talk in person that's just messed up

Its been quite some time since I've talked to Bob or Art for that matter. Is he still using the shoe around the cam chain guide the guide gets machined so the shie just fits over it? It's made of aircraft aluminum and has a pocket to fit the head of the manual tensioner.

No that's not the set up he sold us. The first time the cam bolt backed out and blowed motor this time the 2 screws that hold the unit in came out caught it early as oil started to come out hoping it did not destroy everything just don't want to pull it apart till after New Years.

This bike does not like apes? Tensioner it sounds like, Lush Racing makes one that may stay in place, may, 2 in 2800 miles, holy crap, were either adjusted, checked, before they let go? Or never touched looked at since leaving carpenters? Terrible man i feel for ya. Good luck man

Simple! Get the tensioner from from the tin shed man down under!

I like Nevs. But I'd ask him if the Carpenter valve springs are to strong for it? I plan on getting one for mine the next time Its open. The head on his is slightly larger diameter then the APE. Other then that the quality is 10 times better then the APE model.

He included one with my build kit. Carp springs were also used and I have ridden YurMama several thousand conubial fulfilling miles so far with nothing but boners so far!
